I graduated from King’s College, London in 1980, and worked in a mixed private and NHS practice on the Sussex coast for nine years, becoming a partner in 1986.

After moving to the Midlands in 1989, I joined Graham's Ruddington practice, before joining the current practice in Radcliffe-on-Trent; at this time I was also working in the music industry as the finance director of a CD manufacturing plant, a post I left in 1997 to concentrate on full time dentistry.

I have always enjoyed working in private family practice, with a strong emphasis on prevention. I particularly like treating several generations of one family, allowing me to more fully understand my patients, and striving to help parents secure a healthy future for their children.

From a dental perspective, I have developed interests in crown and bridge, endodontics (root treatment) and ethical cosmetic dentistry. I am also interested in the newer therapies encompassed at the practice; such as the treatment of headaches and snoring.

In January of 2008 I bought the practice from Graham, allowing him to concentrate solely on implantology; at this time I incorporated the business as Dent Blanche Ltd.

On a personal note, I live in Leicestershire, am married to Rebecca, and have three children: Charlotte, 25, (the practice artist), Ned, 22, (soon to be the practice accountant), and Eleanor, 4, (who has yet to decide how she will pay her way).

My interests include hill walking, golf, skiing, reading novels, and watching sport (I am a Chelsea season ticket holder). I also enjoy all aspects of wine!

Graham HancoxI started my own practice in 1978 after graduating from the University of Wales.

Following early interests in Crown and Bridge, Endodontics (root treatments) and Periodontology, I developed a large implant referral practice.

My implant training began in 1990, a year long course run by Dr. Eddie Scher. I placed my first implants in 1991. Since then I have trained extensively with the International Team for Implantology (ITI) led by Prof. Danny Buser at Berne University.

I have hosted a regular ITI implant study club for the last 10 years, and have run several restorative days each year for referring dentists. I am a surgical tutor with Dr. Jonathon Schofield on his “Live Skills” week in Bath for Straumann, and a special lecturer on the surgical weeks for the Bristol University MSc in implantology.

In 2008 I sold the practice to Dr. Robert Mason, allowing me to work exclusively in the field of implantology, furthering my own knowledge and increasing the time spent on teaching to dedicated colleagues.

I was elected and awarded the International Team for Implantology Fellowship in 2009.
At the implant centre we offer both surgical and restorative aesthetic implant options for our own and referred patients, together with acting as a mentor for dentists from around the East Midlands wishing to include implant options into their everyday practice.

David Bell

After graduating from Bristol University in 2001, I began my vocational training in general dental practice in Derby, where I spent a couple of years honing my skills in all aspects of dentistry.  During this time I gained a lot of experience managing nervous patients, often with the aid of sedation techniques.  I also developed an interest in more advanced restorative and surgical procedures.

I next spent one year at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham as a Senior House Officer in Maxillofacial Surgery, gaining further experience and training in oral surgery. During this time I obtained my Membership in the faculty of dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Since 2006 I have worked in general dental practice here in Radcliffe-on-Trent, and have held a part time locum staff grade surgeon position at the QMC’s Maxillofacial Unit, where I carry out surgical procedures under local anaesthetic.

Following on from this I have developed an interest in oral surgery, including the placement and restoration of dental implants.  I have now completed a number of courses in implantology, including a week long intensive surgical course in 2008, and hope to begin an MSc course in dental implants in the near future.

Working closely with local dental laboratories, I strive to provide a consistently high standard of dentistry, using innovative techniques to provide the best aesthetics with crowns, bridges and porcelain veneers.

I joined the practice in 2002, initially for two days per week, expanding this to 3 days when the demand for my services increased.

I qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 1978 at the Institute of Dental Health and Training whilst serving in the Royal Air Force.

I served a total of 22 years, leaving in 1999. I held various posts whilst a member of the armed forces, working with a wide variety of dentists and specialists.

I attained an Honours Degree in Natural and Biological Sciences in 2000, along with a Certificate in Health Promotion.
